Sciton SkinTyte
Renew Medspa Anti-Aging & Aesthetic Medicine is proud to offer SkinTyte technology as part of its Sciton Profile™ BBL™ platform. This innovative new technology is used to selectively heat the dermal collagen deep in your skin while simultaneously cooling the epidermis (outer layer of skin) prior-to, during, and after treatment, reducing discomfort and minimizing thermal injury to non-target skin and skin structures. The result is partial coagulation and contraction of collagen.
This treatment takes about 45 minutes per area, and is done in the office. The most commonly treated areas are the face, neck, and upper chest. There is minimal, if any, facial swelling the first day, but no break in the skin. You can wear make-up immediately. Because of the novel mechanism of action, optimal results from dermal remodeling are seen over a three to six month period. Most patients require an average of 3-5 treatments spaced one month apart. However, because each patient's skin is different, the treatment number can vary.
The majority of patients feel that their skin is tighter after just one treatment, but visible improvements in skin laxity generally take place over three to six months. This exciting new technology is perfect for those who wish to tighten and firm up their skin, with virtually no down-time. 1-2 maintenance treatments per year can help to maintain the result and prevent the natural acceleration of skin aging that normally occurs. The optimal regimen would include simultaneous BBL™ photofacial for brown spots and capillaries and Skintyte treatments for skin firming and wrinkle improvement on the same day.
How Does SkinTyte Work?
The SkinTyte procedure, which takes place in our clinic and takes about 45 minutes, utilizes a broadband of light energy to deeply heat dermal collagen. This process promotes partial denaturation and contraction of collagen. The heat also initiates the body’s natural healing process which creates a renewed collagen foundation leading to increased skin firmness. Powerful cooling maintains the outer surface of your skin at a cool temperature before, during, and after each pulse providing the patient a comfortable and safe procedure.
What Is The Treatment Like?
The SkinTyte light energy is delivered in a sequence of rapid, gentle pulses. There is no need for a topical anesthetic; However, we may choose to use one on more sensitive areas. A series of pulses will be repeated over the treatment area to ensure best results. While the face and neck can typically be treated within 30 minutes, actual time will depend on the area treated.
What Should I Expect After The Treatment?
You may experience some mild redness in the treated area immediately after and this should return to normal within minutes. Since the SkinTyte procedure is non-invasive; there is no downtime so you can resume regular activities immediately following treatment. You can also apply makeup and sunscreen after each session.
What Results Should I Expect?
The SkinTyte procedure is not a substitute for a face-lift and results may vary from patient to patient. The SkinTyte procedure is recommended for patients who desire moderate, noticeable skin improvement without having to undergo surgery. Full results often take up to four months as the collagen foundation of your skin is rebuilt and strengthened.
What Areas Can Be Treated?
SkinTyte treatments are safe for all skin types and can be performed on any area of the body where an improvement in your skin firmness is desired. Popular areas include the face, neck, abdomen, and arms. You should consult with your physician regarding the treatment options that are best for you.
What Aftercare Do I Need?
You should always protect your skin from direct sun exposure and use a good sunscreen. Dr. Dyer-Goode can also recommend an at home skin care regimen.
